Reviews of Laura Seaman and Love Your Block®
Laura was a dream to work with! As a first time home buyer, I can’t recommend her enough. The home buying process can be emotional and stress-inducing, but Laura was always a laid back voice of reason. She takes the time to explain every part of the process and lay out all your options, making sure you are well-equipped to make the best decision. She is incredibly knowledgeable about Philadelphia. Touring houses with Laura is not just about a quick walk through or a sales pitch. She encourages you to think critically about the home and whether it is a good fit for your lifestyle. Even after completing my purchase, Laura has continued to go above and beyond. So happy to have worked with her!
Laura made the home-buying process a smooth and easy process despite two small children and a pandemic. My wife and I met Laura several years ago when we were new to the city. She learned about who we were, talked us through our options, and helped us make the decision not to move. Several years later, we contacted Laura again and picked up right where we left off. She helped us find a new home within a week, guided us through the whole process, and continued helping us even after closing. We loved working with Laura and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to move in Philly.
I loved working with Laura with Love Your Block! She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful as I navigated buying my first home. I recommend her to everyone I know who is considering buying a house in Philly.
My family worked with Laura to buy a house when we were moving to Philadelphia from out of state. Laura was incredible to work with. She got to know us well, was very in tune with what we were looking for, never pushed us to look at things out of our budget, and was very knowledgeable about all things Philadelphia and real estate. Plus, Laura was kind, hilarious, and genuinely delightful person. Her communication was amazing throughout the process and now, even months later, she has remained available to check in and offer advice.
We strongly recommend having Laura as your agent!
Love Your Block is an amazing team. Laura was very supportive in the house search throughout the whole process: from setting expectations about what type of home I want to buy to the final walkthrough. That weird tree in the backyard? Laura knows how much you might spend to remove it. Sellers left a heavy item in the basement? Laura would make sure that junk service picks it up and removes it before you take possession of the home. You cannot find a better agent!
If you’re looking to buy or sell your home, or even just dreaming about it and want to get the conversation started, I could not recommend Love Your Block enough. My husband and I just bought our first home and Laura made the process so easy and stress free throughout. She knows her stuff and was always available for any questions or concerns we had along the way.
Making the biggest purchase of your life is already stressful enough, and I could not have imagined going through the emotional rollercoaster of buying a home with anyone else. She knew how to keep our expectations grounded while also opening our eyes to the potential 1 year and 5 year plan of the homes we were seeing. And we were able to have fun and laugh with the ups and down along the way.
Cannot recommend Laura and Love Your Block enough!
Laura was a great realtor to work with! She was beyond helpful before, during and after the entire home buying process. We were uneasy since this was our first home purchase, but Laura walked us through step by step and was always so quick and helpful with her responses. She’s definitely not in this to make a quick buck on you, but truly wants you to find a home you will be happy in. So glad to have chosen someone who is invested in her clients as well as the community she serves. I would recommend her to anyone in the Philadelphia area who is interested in purchasing!
Working with Laura from Love Your Block was a dream! When I first reached out via email as a nervous potential home buyer, I had no idea what to expect. Upon our first meeting via video chat, I immediately responded to Laura’s sense of humor, personality, and expertise. She felt like the best kind of person you’d meet at a party.
Throughout the entire process, from initial viewings to the final walkthrough, Laura was incredibly helpful. She was patient and knowledgable — thoroughly explaining things like the offer/Agreement of Sale; helping us navigate the inspection process; and suggesting eventual short-term and long-term improvements we can make to our new home.
Laura has a wealth of experience and knowledge, so she can accurately manage expectations and add a real personal touch to this entire process. She always made my husband and I feel like we had her full attention and could ask as many questions as we wanted (no matter how trivial or general).
I would happily recommend Laura and Love Your Block to anyone looking to buy a house in the Philadelphia area. Laura was so great to work with!
Laura is amazing at what she does! She is pro-active and helpful along the entire chain of looking for and finding a new house. If you don’t know where to move or if you want to buy, give her a call and she will help you identify a list of neighborhoods and show you what they offer. If you know exactly what you want, she will help you handle offer, inspection, closing, financing, etc. She loves Philadelphia, knows it inside and out, and is a customer service and real estate pro of the highest caliber. I hope you have the privilege of working with her!
I’d highly recommend Love Your Block if you are considering buying a house. Laura was a pleasure to work with! She helped me find a house that was within my budget and desired location and did so within a pretty short time frame (less than three months).
Laura was amazing to work with! As a first time home buyer she was everything you could want – patient, understanding, available and always willing to answer any and all questions. We couldn’t have gotten through this sometimes stressful process without someone like Laura on our side helping us every step of the way. She’s also extremely knowledgeable and well connected, which helped a ton with our experience. We love Laura!!
Laura was THE best throughout the process and dealing with first time home owner questions and anxiety. She was always communicative, easy to talk to and quick to reply to email, text, or phone calls. Laura always gave us straight honest answers about anything. Seriously, even when we asked her the weird or obvious stuff, she was always patient and kind. We met Laura through the Love your Block House Crawls and she never ever gave us the hard sell, which is exactly why she became our realtor. You should also go on one of those. This is an amazing Philly small business and the personal service is apparent throughout the entire process. Call Laura & you will be well taken care of.
Laura is outstanding! We recently bought our first home. Holy moly is that overwhelming and scary. Laura made it as seamless as possible. Houses were flying off the market when we were looking. Laura was on top of everything. We were able to get in homes very quickly and if we weren’t able to get there in time, Laura was able to check out the property for us. She was extremely responsive to my many texts. When we were finally ready to move forward with an offer she walked us through the entire process. There were multiple bids on the property and I have no doubt that Laura’s business sense and connections helped get our offer accepted. We were so unprepared for how busy that month before settlement was. We had a ton of questions and Laura was always there to respond to a text or speak to me on the phone if I was freaking out and confused. Through it all she made us feel like we were her top priority and her calm demeanor helped to assuage my nerves. I highly recommend Laura if you’re looking for a home… or a life coach for that matter. She’s the best.
Laura recently helped me sell my condo in Fairmount and I couldn’t have asked for a better agent to represent me—she really was the perfect fit. She of course did all the normal things you’d expect with professionalism and efficiency…like marketing the house, working her networking, holding multiple open houses and helping me to get my place in great shape for showings. What surprised me about Laura though was how well she was at managing all the unknowns in the process. From helping me deal with the anxiety of moving, to fielding challenging questions and requests from the buyers and lenders; Laura was able to navigate and untangle a very complex process right before my eyes. Her patience, persistence and intelligence are unmatched and she is really a creative out of the box thinker. There were many times I called her ready to “walk off a cliff” and she always was able to help me clearly see the situation from a new perspective and put me at ease. All these things translated into a super quick sale for a price better than I ever expected in a very competitive market.
When you are ready to sell your house or condo Laura should definitely be the first person you call. I promise she will make the process easy and fun and will be there for you every step of the way. You won’t regret it.
Laura is the best! Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She is organized and timely and fun to work with. I 100% will refer to to anyone who asks for a realtor!
As first time homebuyers we looked to a friend for a recommendation for a realtor. He immediately recommended Laura (he worked with her when he was selling his home). We couldn’t have been happier. Laura was available and responsive when we found houses we wanted to see, and gave us real and honest input in each and every location. Ultimately it ended up with us buying our first home! I will (and do) recommend Laura to anyone!
My partner and I reached out to Laura to show us a property we had recently seen and loved. When she walked us through the house for the first time, Laura was very knowledgeable about what we should look for and the positives/negatives about the property. It’s clear that she knows a ton not only about the real estate sales process, but about homes in general. From the very start, she was always reachable and responded quickly to emails/texts. As someone going through this experience for the first time, I had a lot of anxieties and “worst case scenario” questions during each phase of the process and Laura assuaged ALL of my anxiety (for real–she should add “therapist” to her description)! Both my partner and I felt she was very honest and didn’t try to push us into a sale, but was there to guide us and answer questions every step of the way (it also helps that she has a great sense of humor). I would recommend Laura to anybody looking to buy a new home.
I just bought my first home with Laura in February. As a first-time buyer, I needed someone who I could trust to be responsive, provide perspective, and most importantly provide options and objective information on which to make decisions. Laura came through 110% on everything for me. Laura’s energy and dedication to me as her client made my experience with her fun, exciting, and comfortable every step of the way. She was supportive and assisted me through the unexpected twists and turns of the journey and was an advocate for me in every negotiation. I would recommend Laura to anyone, and as a first-time buyer I couldn’t have worked with anyone better!
Laura is a wonderful agent if you are looking in Philly (she seems pretty knowledgeable about the burbs too!) She knows her stuff in terms of the guts and inner workings of a home as well. I never had to wait around for any type of response from her; she was very accessible via phone and text. When I found my “it” home, I was prepared to counter-offer more, but she refused to let me. I really got a deal and the home is now quite affordable with her helpful bargaining. She also hooked me up with a wonderful mortgage company. She continues to be a helpful neighbor too ; )
Laura’s expertise and knowledge about the city of Philadelphia was SUPER comforting and made my house hunting process a very positive experience. She had great insights and patience as I was a first time homebuyer with a lot questions. Laura is also a great advocate and very responsive. She was recommended to me by a friend and I am grateful she was my realtor!
I used two realtors before I found Laura. We sat down for no more than 10 minutes to talk about my wants and needs and two weeks later, we were preparing for settlement. I wish I had some harrowing stories about the trials and tribulations of finding a home, but this was painless and FUN. Not only did Laura have an in-depth knowledge of all the neighborhoods in Philadelphia, but the “grunt-work” of settlement was a breeze. Look no further… You’re going to love your hood she guarantees it.
Laura worked with us in purchasing a foreclosed home for a 203K rehabilitation. Not only is she personable, she is also extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to her clients. The purchase of a foreclosure from a major bank (who cares very little about the property or any person involved in the business transaction) is no small feat for a realtor to pull off, and Laura managed it with style, humor, and grace. And she gave us all that great service despite it being a very small commission! She went the extra mile to learn about the 203K process and was always willing to dive in and help us navigate the insanity that was the combination of a federal mortgage and a foreclosure procurement. She truly is amazing. We will probably never move given how much effort it took us to rehab this house, but IF we did move, we would hire Laura again in a heartbeat. She is sharp, caring, and thoughtful, and an amazing real estate agent.
Laura helped me purchase my first home! Her Love Your Block Crawls provided a relaxed and fun way to find the perfect neighborhood for me…Point Breeze! She walked me through the entire process making sure I understood every step and even built a handrail to get my house passed inspection. She is incredibly responsive and knowledgeable of all things Philly. Great experience!
Laura is amazing! I bought my first home with her recently and she was very helpful and responsive from beginning to end and even after settlement!
Laura was able to schedule a lot of showings that matched our requirements with a really short notice and she is always just a phone call away! She is very patient and was very fun to work with. One thing we very much appreciated about her is that she gives you space when you’re looking around the house but she’s also there to tell you everything you need to know (or find out for you). Laura also always has so much knowledge and fun facts about both the properties and the neighborhoods.
Laura was everything I would ask for as an agent, especially as a first time homebuyer, she gave me an outline of the whole process step by step with a timeline before we looked around and always made sure that I didn’t miss any deadlines. I highly recommend Laura to anyone who is looking for an agent!
Laura helped me buy a house in 2012, the second time I’ve been through such a process. After the first time, I thought the likelihood of working with a good real estate agent was about as good as finding an above-board politician. Actually, the odds probably are about the same, but if you work with Laura Seaman you will be defying those odds. Her work in urban planning for the city and Ivy League credentials are obvious from the start, but the really nice thing about working with her is how engaging and knowledgeable she is. I never expected to laugh so much while looking for a house, and it was really fun to hear all of the interesting facts she had to share about Philly and its neighborhoods. I enjoyed it so much that I still go on her House Crawls (a tour of a different neighborhood each time that starts at a coffee shop, ends at a bar, and lets you look at 4 or 5 properties in between? Yes, please.) even though I’m not in the market for a house anymore. It’s a great way to get ideas for my place, and let’s face it, seeing a bad house makes you feel extra, extra superior about your own excellent decisions, right? Long story short, Laura really knows her stuff and she’s a lot of fun to boot. She is the agent you want if you’re looking to buy or sell in Philly.
Laura is wonderful! I worked with her until I found my first (just right) house!
Laura was available, quick to respond to questions, and was able to schedule LOTS of showings until I found my house. She was able to walk me through the whole process from narrowing the search to signing the papers. She is extremely knowledge of Philadelphia neighborhoods, the real estate process, and her background in city planning is a definite plus!
I am so thankful that I was referred to her by several friends and I would highly recommend Laura for anyone who is looking to buy a house, especially a first timer buyer!
Laura helped us sell our house and buy a new one. She is very knowledgeable and was a great help in explaining everything, keeping us well informed and helping us make decisions. She has a great way of making you know that she has your best interest in mind at the same time as presenting all the facts and unbiased opinions. And, she does it all with a sense of humor! We definitely ran into some frustration with both the buyers and the sellers and Laura was able to help us see beyond the immediate frustration and make decisions that were best for us. Highly recommended!
